Susan of West Coast Crafty recently had a giveaway for a copy of her new book Modern Log Cabin Quilting: 25 Simple Quilts and Patchwork Projects along with an assortment of eight different fabrics. How excited was I when I found out these goodies were headed my way?
(photo from Susan's blog so you can see how the cute little stack arrived...I ripped into it so quickly I forgot to get a picture!)
Here it is all spread out...
Yes, those are crocogators (and whales)! I'm not sure what I will make yet, definitely one of the projects from the book but I think I might make another camera strap cover with a couple of the fabrics as well.
The book is full of great projects, not just for quilts/duvet covers and pillows (what great timing given my looming sewing project!) but also for cute tote bags, an apron, potholders, and other accessories.
I really think that this is a doable endeavor even for a non-experienced sewist (I was going to write sew-er then realized it spelled sewer....hmmm). The neat thing is that there are a bazillion different end results just based on how you arrange the colors.
This is definitely a sign that I need to hop to it and work on my sewing skills!
On a beady note...if you're not on my mailing list, you might want to sign up today. I'm about to send out a newsletter and there's a special coupon code and announcement planned!
LOL I am always in a quandry...sewer...sewist...sewista..one who sews??? It's like the chicken and the eggs it just goes around in circles....sigh...will we ever know?
ReplyDeleteAwesome swag by the way!
