Do some good...

seems to be the theme for this month. It started with Erin of TesoriTrovati's invitation to participate in "Blogging for a Cause". Next it was another invitation, this time to participate in the Komen 5K Race for a cure. I managed to recruit a couple more people to join up with us so I think it will be both inspiring and fun to participate. How could I resist joining the teamed named "Babes for Boobs"?!It seems like almost everyone I know has been impacted by breast cancer in some way, including me so it's certainly an important cause to support. The walk is November 1st so I don't have much time to get my fundraising done. I'm thinking that a couple of auctions (pink of course!) might be a good way to add to my other (groveling for money) fundraising efforts.

So without further ado, I (with fingers crossed) offer two necklaces up for auction...

The first is 17 1/2 inches long and combines on of my Petal porcelain scoop pendants with three faceted tourmalines on sterling silver headpins and a bail that I created. It hangs on a strand of chocolate brown Greek leather and is finished with a sterling silver lobster claw clasp.

The second is a little bit more on the funky side, it's about 17 inches long on black leather, again combining sterling silver wire for the porcelain attachments and a hook clasp. This necklace has a midnight black porcelain scoop pendant with a Petal pink porcelain star in the center.

(I can add extenders if auction winners would prefer a longer necklace)

If you'd like one of these necklaces (or even if you hate them but would like to give one as a gift...or just put it in a drawer and make your purchase a donation to a good cause!) just comment on this post with your semi-silent auction bid. Just be sure that I have a way to contact you :) I'll start the bidding at $5 and since the walk is only about 2 weeks away, let's make the close of the auction two weeks from today: Thursday, October 29th. I'll close bidding at 7:00pm EST.

Good luck and thanks for supporting such an important cause!
