Want to win something?

So let's start with a little eye candy created by Lorelei using one of my Peacock Sari Leaf pendants: After a little blip in my plans yesterday (i.e. rock solid porcelain!), I have coaxed my clay back to a workable consistency. So, I plan to do some wonderful new experiments today, hopefully what is in my head translates into the mud!

As I mentioned in a previous post, I have a pair of earrings in the July issue of Bead Trends. If you haven't seen this glossy, gorgeous, amazingly photographed publication...what are you waiting for?! Although it isn't as widely distributed as some of the other jewelry magazines, they have an online version available so anyone can access it. There's also a Bead Trends blog to check out. For those of you who haven't had a chance to see this beautiful magazine, I have an extra copy of the July issue that I'd love to give to a good home. Leave me a comment with your favorite source of jewelry inspiration- could be a publication, a place, things, whatever does it for you- and I'll do a random drawing on Wednesday July 8th. (destinations just within the U.S. please)

If you already have the magazine, feel free to comment and just mention that you don't need an entry. Good luck!

  8. Mellisa, I love this magazine, and always look at it in the bookstore since it is pricier than most bead magazines. I'd love a copy! My inspiration comes from a lot of things. Nature, my kids playful attuitude but mostly it comes from the beads that I choose to create with. Some of them have such magnificent colors and depth that you just get lost inside their beauty and they inspire you to deisign great things around them! :)

  12. Don't ya just hate when your clay goes off consistency. I'm re-woring some right now too. It's that dry hot weather.

I love Bead Trends. I love to hold the pages in my hand. It is such a gorgeous magazone. Congrats on being published there.

Favourite inspiration? Victorian architecture. Love all of the scrolls, shells, and hoopla.

I am inspired daily by words and quotes and nature. I just took some amazing fireworks photos and plan to use them in some jewelry. There is so much to be inspired by around us every day. You don't need to look hard!

  14. Congrats on your earrings in this beautiful publication! I'd love to join your giveaway as I have not picked up a copy yet...can't wait to see it. My source of inspiration usually comes from my bead stash. I just pull out my beads (sterling, stone, lampwork, pearls, vintage pieces)...then ideas start to come. Now if that doesn't work, I'll flip through my favorite bead magazines in my extensive stash. :-)

  15. Congrats on having your earrings in the magazine. I agree that it can't be beat for gorgeous photography (in fact - the other mags could take a lesson). I had some things in some of the spring issues and will have more in August and September.

  16. My favorite source of inspiration is Flickr, you can search an idea, color, them, whatever you want, and come up with a thousand visual images, it's so inspiring also to see other parts of the world, and right now the only way to do that for me is Flickr.
(Oh, I'm also a Tastespotting junkie, it's definitely the best source for new recipes!)
    Thanks for the giveaway.
