Well, wild life weekend anyway! This fellow was clinging to my office window with his body plastered up against the glass yesterday. I wouldn't have known he was there except my pup started going ballistic trying to figure out how to climb on to the desk top to reach the window! I had to run back downstairs for the camera so didn't get a picture until he moved to the tree. There's been a whole family of hawks hanging around for the last week or two, I think this guy is one of the kids and got a little confused trying to make his way through my window!Another batch out of the kiln this morning, here's one of my Key Connectors in Robin's Egg. I also did a Zinnia Connector with this glaze. It's definitely one of my new favorites. I'd love to this with tan or brown leather cord but I can think of so many options for it!
This is another new glaze, a matte, sandy type of finish. Any suggestions on a name? It's obviously a lovely blue green turquoise shade but I think it needs a catchier title. Hmmm, maybe a little giveaway incentive for the person who comes up with the best name?? Yep, that's what I'll do- comment here with what I should call this glaze and the person I choose will win a little surprise. Title or not, I'd love to know what you think of it- do you like matte finishes or do you prefer glossy?
That new glaze is fantastic. Matte, glossy? I'm actually a satin fan. That's pretty darned helpful. Actually I like all glazes. That new glaze kind of reminds me of shallow sea water. Something like Marina or even Shallow Sea. OK I'm perfectly awful at names. Just look at my listings. Oh and I love hawks.
ReplyDeleteI am terrible at naming things, especially when it comes to my jewelry. I looove the matte finish. It adds a wonderful and different texture when putting it into jewelry designs.
ReplyDeleteHow about Somber Blossom. i know, it's so lame, right!??
I see you have hawks visting you too! I think you saw my post about the one on our back fence. Love the key connector...
ReplyDeleteI think your hawk picture was much better though! I wish I could have grabbed the camera while he was plastered to the window. They're flying around shrieking outside my back patio right now :)
ReplyDeleteI love the new glaze! The color is so pretty! I love your glossy pieces but the matte is so nice as well! This one is very beachy... :Lagoon ish. It's a great color! The Hawk is really cool! I'm glad he didn't get inside your window though! :)
ReplyDeleteI've really been liking matte finishes lately. I guess it's more rustic and organic to me. I LOVE the turquoise color! It reminds me of the water in the Keys or some faraway island...maybe Turquoise Seas or Aqua Waves? Aquamarine Tides? The color matches the label "light sea green" on Wikipedia...Sea Green isn't bad...O.k., I think I've had too much coffee this morning...I better stop while I'm ahead!!

Can't help you much on glazes, cause I like both matte and glossy.
ReplyDeleteI do love that new color. How about Aegean Sea? I am zip on the naming scale myself...lol!
Hi Melissa! I posted a pic of a new piece I made using your charm. I just love it....and even though it seems like such a small piece...it was the piece I started with and based everything off of...and I love it! Hope to order more soon.
ReplyDeleteHow cool you got to see a hawk so close! Love the robin egg blue :)
